After this essay was published, I received hundreds of messages from people around the world. People shared how they’d come across my story and what it meant to them. Many told me they cried when they read it, and that it made them change some part of their lives.

Every single message that I received, humbled me. I’m so grateful to all the people who took the time to read my story and connect with me. I don’t take any of it for granted.
